Vineet Rai (1971)
Founding Partner India

Vineet has over 15 years of experience in leading innovative interventions in Social Development, Venture Capital, Micro Enterprises and Microfinance Investments. Founder of Aavishkaar (and related companies), Vineet is the Co-founder and Director of Intellecap, a pioneer and leader in the multiple bottom line investment advisory industry. He is also the Co-founder and Director of Rural Innovations Network, a Chennai-based Non Profit company that creates networks for rural innovations.

Vineet is on the Board of Share Microfin and in the L-RAMP Advisory Board of IIT Chennai (Lemelson Foundation India Initiative). Vineet has been awarded Ashoka Fellowship in recognition of his contribution to the field of Social Entrepreneurship and Life Membership of XLRI Alumni Association. He holds a Post-Graduate diploma in Forestry Management from Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal.

Wim van der Beek (1960)
Founding Partner the Netherlands

Wim van der Beek is a social venturer with two decades of experience in financial structuring, investment funds and cross border direct investments. In 2004 he decided to 'walk his talk' and founded Goodwell Investments, a social investment firm focussed on high impact high return investment solutions.

Before launching Goodwell, Wim co-founded and managed an institutional fund advisory company. Prior to that, he was a partner in the financial services international tax practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Amsterdam. Wim is advisor at Intellecap and Aavishkaar in India and board member of BASIX in India.

Els Boerhof (1970)
Partner The Netherlands

Els is a development finance specialist. She was six years with FMO before joining Goodwell in 2008. At FMO she was the Manager of the Micro & Small Enterprise Fund MASSIF, which she expanded from €200 mln per end 2005 to over €300 mln per end 2007. She was a non-executive board member of Acción Investments in Microfinance (USA) and member of the Credit Committee of the AfricInvest Financial Sector Fund and OxfamNovib (later Triple Jump). Previously she held the positions of Manager Business Development and Investment Officer Asia. Els also worked for MeesPierson in International Trade & Commodity Finance and has a Master's Degree in Development Economics from Tilburg University.

Bernadette Blom(1968)

Bernadette Blom is an investment professional. Before joining Goodwell Bernadette co-founded and was managing director of Corporate Connect , a financial advisory firm with strong focus on emerging markets and alternative products, for nine years. During this period she advised various investors and social investment funds with regard to strategic issues, deal structuring and fundraising. Prior to Corporate Connect Bernadette worked for Accenture(Amsterdam) as senior strategy consultant for financial services and Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi investment banking (London). Bernadette started her career at ABN AMRO Bank where she spent five years within the investment banking global clients division (Amsterdam). Bernadette has a master's degree in financial economics from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam.

Bob Assenberg (1967)

Bob Assenberg is an allround investment and finance professional with 20 years of experience in investments, fund management and general management. Bob has a decade of impact investment experience in developing countries. Before joining Goodwell, Bob worked at Triodos Bank where he was responsible for management of a microfinance fund as well as management of equity funds for renewable energy, both in Europe and developing countries. Also he was a board member and investment committee member with microfinance institutions in India. Prior to Triodos Bank, Bob was General Manager at ProCredit Bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Previously Bob spent a number of years with FMO and at the start of his career eight years with multionational companies in the Netherlands and UK. Bob has a Master's Degree in Business Economics from Groningen University.

Leonie Haakshorst (1971)
Fund administrator / mid-officer


Leonie Haakshorst has a background in rural business development and financial management, inter alia at a sustainable food company FairConnect and at the Dutch development organisation ICCO. She manages fund administration matters and is in charge of connecting the streams of information and money between our more than 30 investors in our five investment companies and their investees through our investment teams in four countries. Leonie has a Master's Degree in Development Studies from Nijmegen University and a Master of Science in business administration. She also followed a Microfinance Training Course at Nairopa University in Boulder, USA.

Annette Broerse-Nijsen (1972)
Senior Investment Manager The Netherlands

Annette Broerse-Nijsen is an investment professional with experience in investment banking, asset management and strategy consulting. She worked for ABN AMRO Bank for almost ten years in various positions in several countries. She decided to make a move away from haute finance to focus on microfinance and within Goodwell she is involved in several projects in the field of integrated microfinance, renewable energy and water and sanitation. Annette has a Master's Degree in Economics from the University of Groningen.

Pradeep Pathiyamveetil (1972)
COO Investment Team India


Pradeep is Chief Investment Officer of Aavishkaar Venture Management Service. He has been associated with Aavishkaar since its inception in early 2002 and has over 12 years of operational and investment experience in sectors including farming and allied activities, agro processing, ICT, renewable energy, manure and fertilizers. Earlier, Pradeep worked for a period of 6 years with Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd, where he has been closely involved in the financial structuring for new greenfield sugar projects, valuations and takeovers as well as a VC funded refined sugar project in Vietnam.
Pradeep started his career at Apple Credit Corp Ltd, focused on hire-purchase and leasing of automobiles. He holds an MBA (Finance) from TAPMI, Manipal and is a Bachelor in Applied Sciences (Engineering) from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore.
